For those who aren’t aware of it, the lines “a long time ago we used to be friends….” are actually a quote from a song by The Dandy Warhols, a tune that was used as the opening theme for all three seasons of the now-defunct American television series “Veronica Mars”. But in these days of “being friended” or “asking to become a friend” they could take on a somewhat different meaning depending on context. In the context of “myspace” and similar sites, it’s dubious how many “friends” are really that.
